Begin With the End in Mind

I planned ahead and created
this scene as a project for class.
It felt good to add my diorama
to the display in our Media Center.
I'm an important part of
my classroom and the school!

Be Proactive

What happens when a Kindergartner
comes into our gym looking a bit uneasy
because it's her 1st day as an "Early Bird?"
You answer any questions
and keep her company, of course!
Doing the right thing without
being asked will always be the
best choice......even if no one is looking.

Sharpen the Saw

We take care of our bodies by exercising
and getting plenty of sleep.  After
all, kids learn in lots of ways,
 not just at school.
Believe.  Family.

100th Day, Hip-Hip Hooray!

What happens in 100 school days?
We share something that lasts:
the lessons, the friendships, lots
of memories, and fun!
Recognize these "seniors" in Mrs. Gray's 1st grade classroom?

January's Community Cafe

Ask these 5th graders which habits
make the most difference for themselves and for others.  Then you'll understand why
 we're proud of our youngsters!

Be Proactive:  "I choose my actions, moods & attitudes."
Put 1st Things 1st:  "I try to work first and then play."
Synergize:  "I know working together is better."
&
Sharpen the Saw:  "I try to take care of my body."
"If you light a lamp for someone
else, it will also brighten your path."

"Take a Selfie," They Said

We have so many reasons to smile!
Wow- the things kids
can "talk people into today."

Thinking Win-Win, oh yes!

Kindness Goes a Long Way!

At basketball events, Robinson High School always gives a fan from the visiting
team a small gift.
Say "hello" to a recent recipient!
Learning by example.....priceless!
What's more important is that
we can all "pass it along."
Youngsters grow in lots of ways
and places, not just at school.

Sharpen the Saw

We learn in lots of ways and
lots of places, not just at school.

Synergize

Working alongside others is always the
way to go.  We can accomplish more
together than if we're on our own!
Mrs. Irvin helped us create "Sunshine Bags" for kids who visit emergency
 rooms.  Our
gifts are going to
 nearby Good
Samaritan Hospital
 in Vincennes, Indiana.

"Together is better!"

Begin With the End in Mind

"I plan ahead & set goals for myself.
Figuring out what we want to do, I'm
determined to give my best efforts at school.
It feels wonderful!"

Synergize

Together is better!
Gathering together to talk with friends
in the gym before class starts is great fun.

It Was Icy and Bitter

To say that the weather was cold at the start of classes following break is an understatement.
It was icy and harsh.....
with unforgivable, howling winds.

We watch for children nearing the building
at the beginning of each day to see
all get inside quickly and safely.
  Yet a four-year-old faltered and
 stumbled
against an unrelenting wind
that morning as she stepped out of the bus.

Students swept past her,
hurrying toward the entrance.
After all, it was bitterly cold; a steady
line of buses and pupils just "kept coming."

It took a third grader a moment to
realize what was happening.  She didn't
recognize the child but moved through
the crowd to reach out and
take her hand.
Together the two girls walked against the wind and toward the door.  Once inside, they both
relaxed and gave each other a little smile.

Everyone should witness
selfless grace such as this.
We all should aspire to be kind.

You're In Charge

Using P.B.I.S. tickets you earned
to have the chance to visit a classroom
of your choice & be their "Guest Reader?"

Why yes....please!
We're learning to be
responsible and taking
initiative.

P.S.  Before winter break,
we just couldn't get enough fun
holiday stories under-our-belts!

December's Community Cafe

A luncheon with fourth grade ladies?
Yes indeed,  young at heart
 and
full of promise.
Thank you Bill Richardson for being our guest!

reputation is like a shadow.  The
shadow is what we keep thinking
of, but the tree is the real thing."
