Initiative!

What do you do when two youngsters
quickly volunteer to sweep up the
eating areas &
wipe tables, after
NIGHT OWLS have a snack?
You smile and say, "Thank you."

Sunday Smile!

Mornings in our gym are pretty busy times.
Some pupils "hoop" it up!
Yet when it's the time we head students into
Parkside's cafeteria for breakfast,
there's no shortage of helpers
who get things put away.

We Are Humbled- Thank You!

The cupboard is NOT bare!

Special thanks go out to
the parents who organized a recent
 fund-raising
event at the VFW.
Also we want to recognize
Becky Lyles

& The Modern Woodmen, Lisa Trinkle,
and The Lawrenceville Elks
for
helping provide refreshments to children.

Tutoring on Tuesday and
Thursdays
 (3:30-4:30 P.M.) began this week.

The NIGHT OWLS are supported totally by
grants or donations.  Without your support along
with community volunteers who help with tutoring
our participants, the
 program will end.
Thank you to all who care!

Christmas in September?

What's this?
A red wagon coming down the
hallway, filled with gifts and goodies?
It's kind of like "Christmas."
"Hello Mrs. Walker,
have something for you"

~Kylee

Thanks to the generosity of our parents and
community members, supplies or special
items on teacher-wish lists were
purchased & delivered.

Thank you to all who were involved!

Run, Run, Run!

Like the shirt says:
"Parkside Running
Once We Start....We Can't Stop"
This season, Mr. Jennings and
Miss Shuff are there for us on Mondays!
Runners always begin with an all
important time for stretching muscles.
Next our 4th & fifth graders can begin.
Many September runs have been hot!
Mrs. Gray is there to
log individual laps for participants.
Setting and achieving goals!
Mr. Mikeworth urges giving
a "determined look," as we
wrapped up the latest session.

Friday Fun

We recommend playing with puppets.
They are so much fun, trust us on that!
Sometimes we change our voices
and talk in a different way.
It makes people happy!
We also recommend loving books.
You can never read too many stories.
Creativity involves building.
Trust us on that one!

Garden Makeover Has Begun

As "Father Time" marches on and our
Butterfly Garden is undergoing a change.
To begin- lots of weeding.
Did we mention that the Lawrenceville
Elks Lodge donated two truckloads of mulch"
https://www.elks.org/lodges/ContactUs.cfm?LodgeNumber=1208

Trimming and removing invasive species
will improve the look and feel of our space!
Our volunteers were responsible
for an amazing "face-lift" over the area.
Did we mention Ace Hardware donated
Round-Up and Preen for use on the project?
"Team work makes the dream work."
Where would we be without our volunteers?
So many were involved:
Garth Whewell, Christy Whewell, Leann Williamson, Eric Irvin, Cindy Jones, Michael Briner, Oliver Large, Johnna Large, Scott Colvin, Jonee Colvin & Riley Colvin, Laura Zehner, Boots Zehner, Pam Preston,
and Greg Wood.

Sunday Smile

Just look at this!
Here are some of our volunteers who
do a tally of "Early Birds" in the mornings.
Our bright, eager, and
proactive volunteers are
 kids of all ages!
Weekly we average about
85-100 "Early Birds" per day,
in the gym from 7:00 to 7:35 A.M.

Welcome to our World

We celebrate the greatness in everyone, for
it recognizes the talents and special
qualities that make them priceless.
School days "filled" with pupils who
are examples of what it means
to be a fine human beings.
They're respectful, helpful, and encouraging
to classmates as well as others
across the entire building.
How lucky are we to see them strive
to be their "best," each and every
day that we're together.
These 4th graders bring a new meaning
to the words "humble and kind."
They make school days grand!

We had to give them a shout-out, thank you.

Remember Heroes

The school day ends, but it's important to honor those who serve, the brave, and
all who are loved.

The Good Stuff

Nothing says "happy," like
visitors to your very own classroom.
Third graders, guests, and lots of smiles.
Did you hear about a "Grand Persons" day?
Not sure if some are known as
Oma
which is German, or Grammie.
Others may be Grandpa or Papa!
There were many, many interviews
discovering what we all have in common.
Giggling, lots of giggling!
We sensed a lot of pride was showing.
Important people in the lives
of our children create loving bonds.
Sharing special moments like this
and looks such as these
made for an unforgettable morning!
Mr. Holtz welcomed one and all.
Smiles, in every corner of the classroom.
Mothers, grandmothers
great-grandmothers, delightful!
"Top 10 Reasons," loving a Grandma!
A day kids and guests shall never forget.
Did we mention the refreshments?
Did we mention the hugs?
Thank you for joining us.
