Part of our hearts were in Dallas, Texas
this weekend because our L.H.S.
cheerleaders were competing there.  

Beautiful are the children....... 

They were the only school from
Illinois at The 2014 NCA Senior
and Junior High Championships. 

Proud family members were there too.

It's nothing new because these folks 

are always there for their kids. 
It says a lot about Lawrenceville, Illinois. 

We cannot wait to hear about

your adventures "down south!"

She works two jobs, is a teenage mom, makes the best grades ever, gets her 18-month-old to day care, and then gets herself onto school for classes.  I can't express in words just how proud I am of my daughter.  I love you!

A BIG thank-you to those keeping the
electricity flowing, dangerous roadways safer, and the school sidewalks cleared in our southern Illinois community.  

Many of these people are Parkside parents, grandparents, or CUSD 20 employees. 
 
The weather is dangerous and your efforts--
our friends and neighbors, are tremendous
and have not gone unnoticed!

Are We Ready for Break to be Over?

The Gloves

"Hey sis that's the lady Noni gave gloves to," were the words I heard from my son when we pulled into a local restaurant to grab some breakfast. 



When I asked about his comment, the children told me about a day they'd been at McDonald's with their grandmother and noticed the young lady in the drive-up window.  The three of them could see she was uncomfortable because it was a bitterly cold day and her hands were bare. 


Without a word, my mother took off her gloves and handed them to the employee at the window.  That sounds familiar because my mother had no idea who this young gal was,
but she didn't have to.  


That's  the kind of person my mom is. 
I'm grateful my two children got to see
