Jr. Chefs

Thanks to volunteers & staff from
local University of Illinois Extension
Offices,
cooking class is in full swing
this week at Lawrenceville High School.
There are daily lessons
related to techniques and tools.
Children are making plenty of recipes each day.
They've even had a few competitions.
Can you whisk eggs whites as
well as someone using an
electric mixer?
Hand washing, sweeping, doing
dishes  and clean-up is
all part of the deal!

In May, fifth graders held a ceremony upon the completion of their Drug Abuse Resistance Education program after completing a 10-week course under the supervision of Lawrenceville Police Department officer Mike “Doodle” Seitzinger. Miss Lucila Monroy (above) was one of six
 students selected to read an
essay describing the experience
Then to the strains of Pomp & Circumstance
the 2019 Lawrenceville High School graduates honored our youngsters during the annual "Senior Walk."
