Believe, and Bring Forth Some Magic

Was December 20th & all through the year,
Mrs. Gray's class has been reading without fear.
1,000 AR points equals pizza and pop,
Day by day they did not stop.
December 21st was their
moment to celebrate & cheer,
for earning 1,000 AR points in 1/2 a year!

Leadership 101 with Susie

Our delightful December guest Mrs. Susie Bishop, with news leaders
"soaked up:"  reading good books, writing, and reaching for important goals
Then, Susie surprised 3rd, 4th & 5th graders
with supplies
to create lighted wands....let the fun begin!
Materials check:  a straw, battery, light bulb, and tape.
#Thinking  #Teamwork  #Trial & Error  #STEM
Success for this trio!
Hey, the wand lighted up for these partners!
Only one thing left to do....head to the safe room.
Can you feel the love?
Like Mrs. Bishop reminded us,
"Always believe because it's possible to imagine &
build dreams within the family of your very own classroom."

December Fun

"Gabby time," right before Christmas break.

Tis the season!
"Treat every day like Christmas.
There's room for everyone on the nice list.
The best was to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear."

Elves at play!
How fast can YOU unwrap & eat chocolate while wearing gloves?

DEAR SANTA,
"I can explain..."

Can You Believe It?

Reindeer you say, at Parkside this week?

No way!  😮  Yes way!

We learned reindeer do communicate with each
other in many ways.  A "
clicking" sound made by a
female enables offspring to find mom, within the herd.

So many questions that day, we're grateful to our guests.

Thanks to Mrs. Jaeleigh Waller & our very own
Parkside P.T.O. for sponsoring this "one-of-a-kind" event.

It's a Big Deal

Miss Grimes has a message we want to share!
Encouraging
all children to find a book they like...in hopes
that it nurtures a lifetime of joy, adventure, and new understandings.
We value kids, books, and goals.  Guess what?  The school wants to achieve
22,000 AR points by May 2023.  Not there quite yet but Parkside's on the way!
#WeCelebrate          #GuestsAtSchool
Big thanks to firemen Scott, Joe, and Curtis for decorating holiday
cookies with children across the grades, who reached individual reading goals.
Accomplished readers & smiles all around!
We're so proud of these pupils for developing
regular reading habits and discovering new titles to try.
The Parkside cafeteria was one place for "sweet" success!
But the joy didn't end there.....
Our firefighters joined kindergarten classrooms
to read children a story & decorate cookies, as well!
Who doesn't love a good story?
We wonder if our pupils will get new books for Christmas.
"You can find magic  wherever you look.
Sit back and relax, all you need is a book!"
~Dr. Seuss

Important Service

Meet Mr. Jamie Lay, a civilian firefighter at Grissom
Air Force Base which is located in Peru, Indiana.

Now retired from the Air Force, he was stationed in
Afghanistan & Iraq during his time in the military.

Thanks to technology & GOOGLE- Mr. Lay
was able to meet with Mrs. Crawford's 5th graders,
answer questions, and explain the history of his service.
He achieved the rank of Senior Airman, or E-4.

Our sincere thanks to Jamie for
taking the time to speak with our pupils!
To learn is to appreciate.
