Thanks to all who made "Family Reading Night" so grand!

There was a chance to choose your own writing journal.

Did we mention Parkside's "Book Walk?"  #Winning

Mrs. Hayes will invite winners to choose their book this week! 

This was an area to do some coloring pages...why not?

There were storytellers all evening long.

One can never listen to "too many" stories!

We were so glad to see our beautiful families.

Community News

Friday morning we had a nice surprise.

Lawrenceville mayor David Courtney &
several city employees greeted students arriving to school.

We're proud of this community of learners
so having special guests at Parkside is an honor.

That 3rd Thursday in November!

Some assignments for school begin very early,

even before that first morning bell "rings" at Parkside.

Today Sarah, Charley, Molly & Evey were 

at WAKO Radio and "on-the-air" @ 7:30 A.M. 

They don't want anyone to miss Parkside's Family Reading Night!

Evey gave the history of Family Reading Night, held

 annually across Illinois on the 3rd Thursday of November. 

Molly reminded listeners that our guests will have lots of

 fun:  book giveaways, games, crafts, treats, and special guests!

Sarah reminded radio listeners to read daily, choose

 things that they enjoy, and make time to visit the library.  

Charley reminded the audience that Parkside's celebration

is Thursday November 17th from 4:30 to 6:00 P.M. in the school gym.

Our sincere thanks to Mr. Arvin Hawkins for having students

join him on WAKO Radio's  "Take 5 for the Community" program.
