We honor the service of 

many veterans, across the ages and the globe.

These fourth graders greeted 

guests attending our Veterans Day Program.

On behalf of choral director Mrs.
Alison Mendenhall, Principal Julie Hayes
welcomed friends, family members & veterans.

Before sharing musical tributes,

everyone recited The Pledge of Allegiance.  

The pride, honor, and sacrifice on behalf of so many service men and women is essential
 for human rights and our freedom.

Of this, we shall never forget.

The Real Deal

It's no secret that Mrs. Wells'
first graders have a great days....

especially when their reading buddies visit.

No surprise here, best time of the week!

Knee to knee, they lean in closely together,

for sharing a story is a personal thing.

No stopping, no interruptions.....

except for "giggling" here and there.

For having a fifth grade reading

partner alongside you is a pretty cool thing.

They take turns reading each page

and share adventures with one another.

2nd Grade "Dreams" Take Flight

Friends and family were there, and 

the launch day was crisp and quite cold.

It was that chance to see 

homemade rockets take flight,

with a lot of help from Mr. Gray.

Pupils cheered, having  a "perfect" view.

"Okay, let's send this one up!"

When you want to fly, all you
really need is determination and imagination.

Each capsule is unique
just as the student who designed it, is. 

With some help & people who believe
in you, the science of launching your
 very own rocket is no dream.....it's reality!

There's no limit to the adventures you
enjoy when making "science" your friend.

Snow White herself declared that

October 31st was THE chance, hooray!  

"Dress Like Your Favorite Book Character"

It was a time of laughter, beauty,

and lots of ways to make others feel "grand."

There were sisters, getting into the act.

There were strong men for our protection, 

mothers and their book-loving sons,

yes indeed.....more than one!

Pippi Longstocking danced in the hall,

while fourth graders were having a ball.

The gang from "Charlotte's Web"

was front and center on Halloween,

and the cutest duos you've ever seen.

Fourth grade teachers donned their "best,"

while our "Peanuts" trio handled the rest.

It was that opportunity to be creative,

a chance to share a smile......

looking forward to the "unexpected"

and sharing good vibes all the while!

We know stories should be the 
beginning of great things for
each and every child who
can hold a special book,
hear a tale, and
then go on to
seek one
more!

              school, the music was delightful.

                Spirit like this is contagious.

     We have talented musicians ourselves, who
      have weekly lessons at L.H.S.  This group
             recently headed there for practice.
