History Making Moments

Parkside was honored to have a group of our pupils represent
a "new chapter" in the life of a building that's been home
to the Illinois National Guard for over eight decades.
The children were ready to leave school on September 27th
and head to a ceremony at The National Guard Armory.
They met Representative Adam Niemerg and
received a warm welcome, right before
students
prepared to lead The Pledge of Allegiance.
Special guests included Lawrenceville Mayor
David Courtney,
(center) Major General Richard Neely (right).
The ceremony included a bit of history with help from
Mr. Adam Niemerg,
(back row, left to right) Major General Neely,
Mayor
David Courtney, and Illinois Senator Chapin Rose.
The Armory first opened for operation by troops in 1939; now it's
going to be a community center for Lawrenceville friends & their neighbors.
Our students were escorted by Mr. Wood and Mrs. Hayes.
What an exceptional day, having a part in an event that
begins a chance for families to create "new" history.
Thank you to all who made this day possible!

We Are Family!

Gabby knows how to bring out "joy" when she visits.
Thankful for special times together, this fall.
Fifth graders are keeping our hallway timeline updated.
We're grateful to these youth for representing us at the
dedication ceremony of the National Guard Armory.

Data collection by our teams doing "Plant the Moon."
"Smile more, please."

Adventures Galore!

"Good for the Community" was a new
event
at Parkside Elementary this week.

Surprises for pupils to choose from... &
our thanks to L.H.S. football team mates
for helping unload the semi truck of items.

Shoppers seemed pretty excited.

So many items to choose from, indeed.

Finding just the right gift was the goal.

Satisfied customers at the end of the day.

On top of that, Mrs. Waller
invited us to investigate machinery
that farmers use to manage their operation.
#ThankYou

Lucky are we, to share these experiences.

We're All In

Our school is a most welcoming place.

Just ask the customers from any class.

Enthusiasm makes for wonderful ways.

Friendships are the glue that means the world to us.

There's nothing better than sharing a busy day, together!

All these things "add up" to another great week.

"Hello September!"

A new month for us to flex our muscles on Habit 1.
There's lots of learning, "full steam" ahead.
Hooray, many new books to discover.....
.....and check out from the Media Center.
Working together because cooperation counts.
