Second Grade

"I love second grade.

First our teacher gave us
popcorn at "Meet Your Teacher" night
because my family 'popped in to say hello.'

Then we get to use iPads
to learn and have fun too.

I never want to be sick or miss a thing!
Mrs. Fuller makes every day great.

Busy Lady

"I heard that Santa brought his wife with him to Parkside from the North Pole.  With all those cookies to bake, how did she have a chance to get away and come here to see us?"    ~Nikali

So Thankful

"My neighbor's son is in the military and he spent Thanksgiving last year in Afghanistan.  This week he's home, celebrating the holiday with his parents.  What a blessing."

Wise Words

During reading time a pair of Miss Negley's students were attempting to match up pictures with
correct letter sounds.  One was having difficulty and his buddy patted him on the back saying,
"You are trying hard and not giving up.  That is good because it's all about the learning.  We
get there in different ways."  ~Chris

Lots of Brain Power!

Miss Williamson-  "Let's wrap up this lesson because we have run out of time for today.  I'll see you all tomorrow and don't forget---bring your brain."
Alex- "I  better leave my brain, can I leave it here on your table....because I might forget it tomorrow."
Miss Williamson- "Oh my gosh Alex!  Won't you need your brain in class this afternoon?"
Alex- (pointing to his head and winking) "No, because I've got thousands of them up here!"

It's Not Worth It

"Getting in trouble means you have to go to the office.  You sit in this small room and all you can hear is papers running on the copier.  They are nice to you but I've learned my lesson.  We should all be good and stay in class with teachers who love us and teach us new things."  ~Alex

Let's Measure It

"Guess what?  Mr. Williams took us out on the BIG field where the football players
practice.  I've never been there before but that sure was fun!  I think it's called
Loeb Field.  Hey, let's ask him if we can go out there again so we can measure it."    ~Blace

An "Early Bird" Conversation (7:10 A.M) in the Gym

"Our class pet is so neat!  You know, not every teacher keeps one in their room.  You have to really like animals and know that kids love them too, before you take on the responsibility of a rat. But that's just the kind of teacher she is, always doing something interesting in class."    ~Bradley
