The Votes Are In

If Parkside's NIGHT OWLS were voting for President, Mr. Obama would defeat Mitt Romney and return to the Oval Office.  Thanks Joseph and Megan for tabulating the results!

"I think adults should look carefully at the candidates, listen,
and make a choice responsibily because it's a big decision.

Mr. Pulleyblank Can Help

While teaching this week Mrs. Arnold commented to a student, "I sure could use a cup of coffee."  The child quickly replied- "Go tell Larry!  He can help you out."  For those familiar with Parkside volunteer and retired educator Mr. Larry Pulleyblank, it's a well know fact that he loves his coffee!  Deb Arnold laughed, knowing she had a story to contribute to "Shining Moments."

Lots of Brain Power!

Miss Williamson-  "Let's wrap up this lesson because we have run out of time for today.  I'll see you all tomorrow and don't forget---bring your brain."
Alex- "I  better leave my brain, can I leave it here on your table....because I might forget it tomorrow."
Miss Williamson- "Oh my gosh Alex!  Won't you need your brain in class this afternoon?"
Alex- (pointing to his head and winking) "No, because I've got thousands of them up here!"

What Would You Do?

We want to give a BIG "Shout-Out" to members of our local Fire Department for sharing safety messages and conducting numerous activities with all Parkside classes during Fire Safety Week.

One afternoon a preschool student was asked to explain what to do if your clothing catches on fire. This little one looked at the fireman and replied, "I would stop......jump.....and twirl."

Fall is the Best

"I really love fall.  In the fall the cooler weather is nice.  It's not too hot or too cold or warm.
It's just right.  I get to go to Dorney's Pumpkin Patch.  I get to go through the corn maze, mine
gold, and shoot pumpkins into a truck.  My Hip-Hop teacher works there on the weekends.
I get to go to my grandmother's house for Thanksgiving and we have turkey.  Yum Yum!"  ~Kenzie

We do lots of stuff but only with support from families and a community of caring individuals who feel that giving the best possible education to youngsters is essential.
