Thank You Mr. Courtney

Remembering one who was a son
and grandson.  James became that
husband, that dad, and that teacher.

He grew to be a principal and
then a Superintendent of schools.

Mr. Courtney was indeed that father-in-law and that grandfather.  He was also that bus
driver with a welcoming smile for all his kids.

When we pass this sign leading to
Lawrenceville High School on
2200 James Street in Lawrenceville, Illinois
we'll remember him as an
educator, thinker, partner, and friend.

Thank you for making a difference

We Met This Python..........

Photo compliments of The Lawrenceville Daily Record

Last week "Animal Tales" came to both the Lawrence Public Library and the pavillion in Bridgeport’s Lanterman Park as part of the
2014 Summer Reading Program

John Ham, an Alabama native and lead naturalist for "Animal Tales," invited a group of youngsters at the library program to the front to handle a 12-foot Bermese Python, also known as a Boa Constrictor. Ham also displayed a variety of other animals.

Sunday Thought

"We need devoted dads.  Our mothers
need them.  Our children need them.
Thank you to all the men who guide
the youngsters of our learning community.

They don't just create stronger
kids, their efforts create better men."

Happy Father's Day

Snakes Alive

I got to pet a snake during the summer
reading program at the library!
Dad and I aren't afraid of snakes.

Mom and grandma....
well, that's "another story."
