Final Day Together

It's been a great semester to spend with
Mr. Groves, as he did his student
teaching with us at Parkside!

Does he really have to go?
Ah.....one final. silly smile.

Best wishes Mr. Groves.
We'll miss you but together,
we made a super team!

March's Community Cafe

The theme was "Wild About the Habits,"while 5th graders celebrated with invited guests Stefanie Schapker & Travis Hedrick from Crossfit Ironup.

Meeting the 5th grade teachers and classes,
it was the first opportunity Stefanie & Travis
had to visit our school.
Mr. Jennings and then Mrs. Pettit's
were the first classrooms the group visited.
Mrs. Crawford then welcomed the pupils
and guests, once the luncheon was over.
Mrs. Mikeworth suggested we invite
the professionals from Crossfit Ironup to meet these 5th grade leaders and learn about
The Seven Habits.
We know the journey to build a
strong mind and body will always
begin with support from our school family.

Throwback!

Yes, recently our 5th graders
were "stepping back" in time!
Can you guess the era?
Did they "Google" the
decade in order to create
personal style?
How about the "Awesome 80s?"
Yes indeed.....thanks for a fun day.

Who-Done-It?

WELCOME!
Ready for this mystery?
Mrs. Ricker explains the details.
Let the problem solving
begin.....and it's
all hands-on-deck!"
Survey the scene of the crime.
Gather all the clues.  Hmmm, not
as easy as we first thought it would be!
Gather your evidence with care.
Analyze each bit of information, a "must."
Compare your results
with others, as necessary.
Question your evidence
to see if you can reach a conclusion.
Results can often surprise
or baffle even the sharpest minds!
Did you or your partner
figure out who committed the crime?

Thanks to everyone who
joined us at Parkside for some
detective work, brain-power and fun!

Seek First to Understand

We can present our summary and
personal views on the story,
different as they may be.
"Let us remember:  one book,
one pen, one child, and one
 teacher can change the world."
                                     ~Malala Yousafzai

Seek first to understand,
and then be understood.
