We Want Your Opinion, Please!

As Parkside continue a year honoring
"The Leader in Me," we're asking you
to complete this survey:

We feel The Leader in Me benefits our pupils,
their learning opportunities,
their relationships with others,
and it fosters a true sense of wonder.
As always, we're
thank you for your support
knowing that our school
community benefits so much,
due to the care & concern of others!

Sunday Smile

We wish to thank the extraordinary efforts of
our County Fire Department officers &
volunteers who last week, presented
safety lessons to all Parkside youth!

Problem Solved

Sometimes the weather doesn't cooperate,

when kickball is the game-of-choice for recess.
What do do?
So, we left our kickball
inside & played with
an imaginary one.
It worked out just fine!

We're In Charge

I'm responsible
and take the initiative to put
away equipment after using it,
in the P.E. storage area of our gym.
During "Early Birds" we help one another
put our playthings away, without
even being asked.

"Support" is On-the-Way!

Sadly, Hurricane Harvey has created some
extreme situations for families living
in the south.  Prairie View, Texas
is one such community now dealing
with the aftermath of the storm.

Last week, Mrs. Gray's 2nd graders choose to "adopt" Ms. Moore & her second graders at H.T. Jones Elementary School, in Texas:
Their Solution:
asking families for chores, allowing
 them to raise
& donate all the money
earned to Ms. Moore and her pupils.
"I'm so proud of my students.
Thank you so much for your assistance in this
life-changing event; our class raised $200.00!  They are true "leaders" while helping others in need.  This past weekend I mailed gift cards
and letters they've all written, off to Texas!"

                                                     ~Mrs. Gray

Spotted Last Week

Mr. Mikeworth "tipped" us off
about this gem, at Parkside's
4th & 5th grade entrance @ 7:20 A.M.
What a great way to start the day!
Later, a 5th grader spotted the
rock & its message, vowing to
re-hide it somewhere in our community!

Build a tower, the "mission of the moment."
We jumped right in but without plans.
OK..... it was slow-going.

So we stopped to discuss how
"best" to move ahead with construction.
Hey, just five minutes of brainstorming
together makes a BIG difference!
It is amazing what we can
accomplish when
we're in it together!
