Don't Miss the Best

"If you never did you should.
These things are fun,
and fun is good."

Seek First to Understand

The conversation started with the reading  of this article in the latest edition of
Scholastic News.

#HistoryLesson

They couldn't understand why
African Americans were not
allowed to eat in restaurants with
white customers.  After all this happened routinely, long before they were even born.
#ClassDiscussion

One boy summed it this way:
"If we took the skin "off"of you or
I, of anyone at all..... we'd still be human
beings.  So there really is no difference."
#2ndGradeWisdom
Best lesson of the day.....maybe of a lifetime.
Seek first to understand,
then to be understood.

February's Community Cafe

We're making choices to
improve ourselves, from The Seven Habits.
We're trying to put
our habits to use each day.
It's not hard when we have encouragement!
Our teachers help each of us by giving
 support & include everyone
 when our classes make decisions.
#AWorkInProgress
Thanks to all, for your support!

Synergy

We know that each member
of our squad is good at something.
It means listening & learning
from our teammates & both coaches.
Congratulations to
The Lawrenceville Braves, 5th & 6th
grade student athletes on a third place
finish @ their tournament this weekend!

Love is playing every game like it's your last."

Sharpen the Saw

We all know
that balance feels best!
We learn in lots of ways and
places, in addition to what's gained at school.
Serving others with
 projects that The Lawrenceville
Boy Scout Troop is involved with?

Begin with the End in Mind

Improve those skills?
Yes because we plan ahead,
set reading goals,  and strive to meet them.
#LexiaHumor
Getting rid of that "apple," oh yes!

Be Proactive

A load of "goodies" checked out from
Mrs.
Wesley in our Media Center
during Fifth Grade Specials, yes!

Let's see:  fiction, poetry, autobiographies....a little bit of everything in tow, back to our room.

#Teamwork
We do the right thing without
being asked, even if no one is looking.

Synergy

We're a dedicated squad.
What does that mean?
We cooperate with one another
& get ideas
from our coach as well as
teammates.  That helps everyone improve.
 Congratulations Lawrenceville Braves-
5th and 6th grade players with Coach
David Conner.  The squad won their
tournament on Saturday February
11th by defeating Robinson and going
onto the final victory over Marshall.

Sharpen the Saw

We take care of ourselves
with exercise, healthy
foods, and getting plenty of sleep.

Be Proactive

Standing in the hallway
one morning, these pupils heard
the beginning of The Pledge of
Allegiance over the intercom.

Right away, they joined in.
We do the right thing without
being asked, even if no one is looking.

Tell the Story

Someone born on the
same day of the year as you?
That's your "birthday buddy!"
#Celebrate
We age not by years, but by stories.

Think Win-Win

We want everyone to be a success.
Not just one person, every person!
It's what love "looks like,"
when you feel connected and happy.
It's not just a one-person job
yet the results are truly beautiful!

The Moment Took My Breath Away

Last month Miss Jackie Evancho sang
our National Anthem on January 20th
during the Inauguration of the 45th
 President of the United States.
So did all the youth in Angie Grimes'
third grade classroom, spontaneously.

Synergize

We can all learn something from each other.
Working in groups helps create better
 ideas
than what one person can do alone.
