Sunday Thought

When an important job is at hand,
remember to bring along a sturdy ladder.

It makes traveling to far-off spots possible.

Climbing, climbing, climbing
a ladder leads us upward.
Those impossible  heights that
before were simply just out
of reach will be negotiable.

Parkside is dedicated to being a rung
on the ladder-of-success for youngsters.

Have a great week!

The Lemonade Stand

Want to know what these youngsters did?
Of course, they had a lemonade stand.

Want to guess what they
did with the money?

Donated it to The Pet Port Animal Shelter.

The New Home of Lawrenceville High School

The city of Lawrenceville, Illinois
has a new high school.
It comes after years of planning
and hard work.

"A community willing to dream,"
is what Unit 20 school Superintendent
Charles Stegall said while cutting the ribbon
on the new Lawrenceville, Illinois high school.

"We've come together and put together this remarkable facility.  It has been a long time
in the making,” said Stegall.

Practicing For the LHS Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

Parkside's band director has been busy this summer!
Mr. William Magee has been practicing with his high
school musicians this week to prepare for the
ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremonies at
new Lawrenceville High School today June 15th,

Good luck Mr. Magee and students!

Dads Provide "The Essential Ingredient"

"It takes a number of critical factors to win, including the right mix of talent, creativity, intelligence, toughness, and, of course, luck.
But if a team doesn’t have the
                  most essential ingredient,
      love—none
of those other factors matter."

~Phil Jackson in "Eleven Rings, the Soul of Success"

"Too much of a good thing is wonderful."

~Mae West

"People ask me what I do in winter when
there's no baseball.  I'll tell you what I do.
I stare out the window and wait for spring."

~Roger Hornsby

"It's a wise father that knows his own child."

~William Shakespeare

"It's easy for a kid to join a gang,
to do drugs.....we should make it that
easy to be involved in football
and academics." ~Snoop Dogg

"Don't walk behind me; I may not lead.
Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow.  Just walk beside me and be my friend."
                ~Albert Camus

When I'm standing at the pearly gates, I want to say to God, "Don't look at my records.
Look at my family.  I'm much prouder
about that."
         ~John Fogerty

"I cannot think of any need in childhood as strong as the need for a father's protection."                 ~Sigmund Freud
