Synergize

Thank you to the young leaders at Cairo Elementary School along with their
Principal Mr. Brian Gardner, for
welcoming us to your building this week.

Congratulations on your
Lighthouse status,
as a "Leader in Me" school.

We learned so much during our visit.
It's wonderful meeting friendly folks,
with lots of new ideas to share!

Begin With the End in Mind

Characters come alive and lines
to learn, 3rd graders prepare to perform.
Scenery created and put into place
A packed house, the show begins.......
a tale of naughty bear cubs
who wander away from home.
Our adventure in
storytelling?
Powerful, fun times!

Seek First to Understand

Learning new sight words and
vocabulary....thinking, thinking, thinking.
Next we take turns
teaching one another.
Giggling is a part of the process.
Oh yes, finally we want to pose for
a "silly" picture when our lesson is done.
Remember:  seek first to
understand and
then to be understood!

Sharpen the Saw

The latest 4th
grade invention in P.E. class?
"Hoop-It-Up," oh yes.

Action is fast and furious
yet it's easy to teach to others.
Running, passing, and running some
more; the fast pace feels
good!

Final Day Together

It's been a great semester to spend with
Mr. Groves, as he did his student
teaching with us at Parkside!

Does he really have to go?
Ah.....one final. silly smile.

Best wishes Mr. Groves.
We'll miss you but together,
we made a super team!

The Welcoming Committee

On the job, no questions asked.
Taking the initiative on Friday morning.
Don't you wish everyone could
begin the day with a greeting like this?

March's Community Cafe

The theme was "Wild About the Habits,"while 5th graders celebrated with invited guests Stefanie Schapker & Travis Hedrick from Crossfit Ironup.

Meeting the 5th grade teachers and classes,
it was the first opportunity Stefanie & Travis
had to visit our school.
Mr. Jennings and then Mrs. Pettit's
were the first classrooms the group visited.
Mrs. Crawford then welcomed the pupils
and guests, once the luncheon was over.
Mrs. Mikeworth suggested we invite
the professionals from Crossfit Ironup to meet these 5th grade leaders and learn about
The Seven Habits.
We know the journey to build a
strong mind and body will always
begin with support from our school family.
