Or their many fans, of every age?
Is it great support from parents
Or those dedicated coaches?
Is it the sponsors
Is it those bats that "sing"
Or is it that strong pitching?
Is it the many hours of practice
Or is it just pure fun?
Could it be the hustle
of each individual player?

It's this and so much more for

Preregister for the 2014 Kids Shopping Day
Participants line up to begin the 2014 Southern Illinois
Spring Classic, just one of the many fund-raising events

Spring Classic, just one of the many fund-raising events
that benefit the Kids Shopping Day of Lawrence County
Preregistration Set for the Annual Kids Shopping Day: Saturday July 26th
The ninth annual Kids Shopping Day of Lawrence County will be hosting a preregistration at the Central Christian Church Saturday July 26th, beginning at 9:00 A.M. KSD provides Lawrence County PreK through high school aged pupils with classroom supplies and clothing items including tennis shoes, for back-to-school. In August 2013 a total of 627 young people went "shopping" just as summer vacation was coming to an end.
KSD organizers initiated a preregistration process in 2012 to alleviate long lines during the event.
To participate, families register by giving the first name(s) of their child(ren) and clothing size(s.) Adults are then given a time to return to the Central Christian Church on Saturday August 2nd (8:30 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.) to "shop." Families unable to preregister on July 26th can do so on August 2nd.
Each Lawrence County youngster participating in KSD is matched with a personal helper to assist them at the event; pupils browse the selections and choose the clothing items and backpack they want. Youngsters can even get a free haircut. Numerous local hairdressers will volunteer their time again this year to make it possible. Last year over 160 young people walked away with a fresh haircut after attending Kids Shopping Day.
