Fall Activities in Lawrenceville

Fireman Potts shared a Q & A safety lesson with 4th graders this month.

3rd graders continue gathering data for their "Plant the Moon" project.

Relationships are a true "key to success."

Hooray, a surprise visit to us from Lawrenceville Indian football players!

Proud, proud, proud of the L.H.S. team & their coaches.

Student Lighthouse Team began discussions at their 1st meeting of the school year.

Mrs. Waller helped us understand how cottage cheese is made.

Happy Friday!

Our community of leaders is very busy!

We are always together and on-the-go.

You know, October field trips are the best.

1st graders just want to have fun!

Exploring and learning across the grades, every day.

New experiences are the best.

Happy, happy Friday!

History Making Moments

Parkside was honored to have a group of our pupils represent
a "new chapter" in the life of a building that's been home
to the Illinois National Guard for over eight decades.
The children were ready to leave school on September 27th
and head to a ceremony at The National Guard Armory.
They met Representative Adam Niemerg and
received a warm welcome, right before
students
prepared to lead The Pledge of Allegiance.
Special guests included Lawrenceville Mayor
David Courtney,
(center) Major General Richard Neely (right).
The ceremony included a bit of history with help from
Mr. Adam Niemerg,
(back row, left to right) Major General Neely,
Mayor
David Courtney, and Illinois Senator Chapin Rose.
The Armory first opened for operation by troops in 1939; now it's
going to be a community center for Lawrenceville friends & their neighbors.
Our students were escorted by Mr. Wood and Mrs. Hayes.
What an exceptional day, having a part in an event that
begins a chance for families to create "new" history.
Thank you to all who made this day possible!
