Five days of cooking and cleaning is fun?
Yes it is when you participate in
Jr. Chefs classes with friends, old & new.
Youngsters had chances to
try different fruits & vegetables
during the week. "Give it just a taste!"
We had expert guidance from the staff
at The University of Illinois
Extension offices in the area.

One of many lessons during the week:
how to juice a lemon, for your next dish.
how to juice a lemon, for your next dish.
Do you know how to choose the best knife for
your next task in the kitchen & use it safely?
Jr. Chefs practiced the best ways to
crack eggs and not get shells in their recipes.
Near the end of the week, an important lesson was about hosting a party & helping guests feel welcome.
On the final day, that's exactly what they did!
It was the perfect chance to share
the many dishes the children made that week.
Lots of pride "across the table."
We hope guests enjoyed themselves.
It was such a nice turnout of
friends and families from our community!
Big thanks to the volunteers who helped make the week possible, especially folks at Lawrenceville High School.
