#10MOOREMinutes

It started out as a cool March afternoon
but one with purpose, for us all.
Together we walked from Parkside, heading  down to our Ed Loeb Track and Field to honor some high school runners.  We were remembering pupils who had recently been injured or had lost their lives during a routine practice, held right after the school day ended.
The athletes we were remembering
attended Moore High School, in Oklahoma.
Runners Rachel Freeman,
Yuridia Martinez, and Kolby Crum
had been asked by their coach to do a 10
minute run along with their teammates.  Shortly after beginning, they were unexpectedly
hit and killed by a drunk driver.
We watched as three white balloons were launched in their memory.  Blue balloons were sent skyward for runners who were injured in the accident, as well as red balloons to show support for the Moore Lion High School Cross Country Team and their families.
We all shared a moment of silence.
When you "Sharpen the Saw," you strengthen
your mind, your body, and your heart.
You also strengthen your spirit.
We send our messages of love to
Moore High School not just today,
but for all the days that lie ahead.
We know that "hope" springs eternal.
Thank you to Mrs. Sonia Gray for
helping us honor some special
students and families.
