Holidays in Our Hometown #15

These pals rang
        bells t
onight, for others.

The 2013 annual bell-ringing campaign for the Lawrence County Salvation Army is well under way and will continue through Christmas Eve. Last year, Lawrence County residents donated over $20,000 for local families. The local Salvation Army issued over 150 vouchers to help local families with rent, utilities, prescription drugs, lodging and gasoline for out-of-town medical appointments. Eighty-five percent of every dollar is used in Lawrence County, with the remaining 15% used for national and international disaster relief efforts and a small administrative cost.

Our goals for the coming year will be to meet the most basic needs of local residents--keeping families healthy and homes warm. We hope we can count on your support and thank you for your part in offering a "hand-up" to those in need.

Please call if you have questions about the work of the local Salvation Army, if you would like a report out to your group, or if you would like to get involved with the work. We value your input and your partnership.

God bless you.
