Courage to Finish

Jim Redmond made history when he helped
his injured son, Derek, cross the finish line in the
Barcelona Olympic Games of 1992.  This runner

had been competing in a 400 meters semifinal race
when he pulled up and fell, with a torn hamstring.

Seeing Derek in pain and in tears, Jim immediately
ran onto the track to support his child in that moment.

In an interview with reporters later, Jim declared,
"We started his career together and
we're going to finish, together."

Did you know that for his inspiring act, Jim Redmond
was selected to carry the Olympic flame during
the torch relay for the 2012 London Games?

#courage         #support          #teamwork

Remember:  finish the race and
finish it well, for that is within you.
